Meet Bryant Prieto
BRYANT PRIETO
I was born in 1988 in the Bay Area, in the city of Oakland, California. At age 14, my parents began seeking a better place to finish raising me and my siblings, and so wound up visiting Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Within a matter of 3 months from their initial visit, we were moving to Arkansas, and never looked back.
I attended Siloam Springs High School for the entirety of my high school career, and was able to participate in various activities, including playing some football. Panther Pride!
After high school, I attended the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, and after figuring out a few things, wound up graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Language and Communications in Spanish in 2010.
I later continued my studies through John Brown University, and received my Master of Science in 2016, having completed the Dual Track program in Marriage and Family Therapy and Community Counseling. I have been working in the mental health field since 2013, and am experienced in treating a variety of mental health and behavioral concerns.
MS, LPC-TA, NCC, ACCTS,
EMDR-CT, ADHD-CCSP
I established NewLeaf Counseling of the River Valley, Inc on July of 2017, in order to begin treating clients in a private practice setting. On October of 2018, I moved my location within Stonehaven Behavior Health & Wellness, in order to work alongside my friend, and long-time mentor, Dr. Monty Atchley.
I am a bilingual mental health therapist, proficiently speaking both English and Spanish languages. I am licensed in the state of Arkansas, and am also recognized as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board for Certified Counselors. I have completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and am also a trauma and grief specialist trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I am also experienced in working in a variety of settings, including: outpatient, day treatment, and school-based therapy.
I am passionate about meeting clients where they are in life, providing them with support, guiding them through their process, giving them the tools for success, and strengthening the support systems in their lives in order to help them meet their therapeutic goals and objectives, as well as helping them bring out the best version of themselves. I tend encourage clients to explore and process emotions, thoughts, and experiences, considering social/cultural differences, and implement appropriate approaches in order to alleviate/resolve distress, and help them find direction in their life.
I look forward to working with you!
